1. The scope of application is different
Due to the uniform and fine internal structure of MDF, in the furniture industry, it is widely used to replace wood processing flowers and carving products, such as European furniture door panels, hats, decorative columns, etc. Particleboard is widely used in the panel furniture industry due to its resistance to bending and deformation, high strength-to-weight ratio, good nail-holding power, and low formaldehyde content.
2. Different materials
MDF uses the sawdust at the end of the forestry industry, and the material itself does not have a fiber structure at all. The layered sawdust used in particleboard retains the fibrous structure, and is specially machined from unfinished tree branches, not leftovers.
Particleboard is a multi-layer structure, the surface is equivalent to density board, and the density is good; the interior is layered wood chips that retain the fiber structure, and the layer structure is maintained by a specific process, which is close to the structure of natural solid wood boards.
Which is more environmentally friendly, particleboard or density board?
The density of particleboard is close to that of medium density fiberboard, but because particleboard is made of particleboard and adhesive, its density is not uniform, the middle is low, and the two ends are high, so its nail holding power is lower than that of medium density fiberboard. Moreover, the surface of MDF is more delicate, and its flatness is higher than that of particleboard. However, compared with MDF, particleboard is better in moisture absorption and moisture resistance, and its price is relatively low. Therefore, it can be said that qualified medium density boards and particle boards only have their own strengths in function, and there is no one that is more environmentally friendly.
